Estonia’s most legendary sports complex given a brand new lease on life

“The reconstruction and extension of Kääriku Sports Centre was an exciting project to work on and one which presented a number of challenges. The aim was to create a complex with both training and accommodation facilities that would meet all international standards whilst being in line with the vision of the client. We started by defining the dynamics of the future sports complex with the client; only then did we set about designing its tens of thousands of square metres of space, the engineering and technical structures required to service it and the kilometres of utility lines.

In fact, the job involved designing what is essentially an autonomously functioning small settlement. We hope the salubrious environment that is created paves the way for the success of future sports stars and recreational athletes. We are proud that we were able to make our own contribution to realising the ambitious plans of Kääriku Sports Centre for 2020.”
