A landmark of Estonian wooden architecture
ESPLAN has a long-term cooperation with RMK and it is already the second office building designed for the same customer.
The State Forest Management Centre (RMK) Tartu’s new office building is located in the center of RMK Tartu County forest district. The aim of the customer was to join the employees from two buildings into one energy-efficient office building with modern working conditions, which would be conceptionally in line with RMK’s core business in terms of its use of materials: widespread use and display of wood.
The office building has an innovative architectural solution, it is built of domestic wood and is one of the most environmentally friendly office buildings in Estonia. The office building has a entirely wooden structure, is achieved by using cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction technology. To achieve the highest energy efficiency class, a solar power plant was installed on the roof and the building.
